RPC seeks COVID-19 safety testing proposals

The Regional Partnering Center, a nonprofit managed by Pima Association of Governments, is seeking proposals to design an innovative outdoor medical consultation and mobile testing facility for hospitals to safely triage patients for the coronavirus (COVID-19) to help preserve scarce personal protective equipment.

The RPC is collaborating with the University of Arizona Center for Innovation, along with other key industry participants, to review proposals, which are due to the RPC by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020.

The goal is to quickly design an outdoor testing facility that makes it significantly easier to disinfect the area potentially exposed to the coronavirus. The design should incorporate differential air pressure to help make the space safer for healthcare providers and medical professionals.

Proposals should include design plans, specifications and a plan to develop an operational manual for the subsequent implementation of safe infectious disease testing facilities. Proposals may be submitted at info@PAGregion.com.
