Economic Vitality Advisory Committee

The PAG Economic Vitality Advisory Committee, established in early 2014, works to identify ways to align the region’s transportation planning efforts with economic development opportunities. The committee, which has a transportation emphasis, explores various topics of regional significance that affect the community’s economic vitality, such as land use, tourism and trade, to evaluate how transportation projects and policies influence economic development outcomes.

Committee members are representatives of PAG-member jurisdictions, including city and town managers, as well as representatives of higher education institutions and economic development-focused organizations. The committee meets quarterly.

PAG, which functions as a council of governments, also is a federally mandated metropolitan planning organization. Metropolitan transportation planning efforts must include strategies that support economic vitality of the metropolitan area, especially those that enable global competitiveness, productivity and efficiency.
