Pima Association of Governments is seeking an enthusiastic, mid-level Senior Communications Specialist to support organizational branding and marketing communication strategies. SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Under general supervision of the Communications Director, the Sr. Communications Specialist will work to support the Communications program at Pima Association of Governments with a focus on integrated marketing communication (web, social media, newsletters, reports, advertising), public outreach, public involvement, event management, and oversight of the PAG public stakeholder contact (CRM) database to build the PAG brand, vision and mission to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Write brand-consistent content for websites, social media, newsletters, reports, advertising and other materials as assigned.
Manage website development to align content and design with PAG branding. Must be familiar with using content management systems (ie., DNN or WordPress).
Develop, execute and analyze email marketing campaigns using email marketing software (e.g. Constant Contact). This includes development and management of databases (ie., Constant Contact).
Manage digital marketing communication, including through websites and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube). This includes tracking and analyzing website (Google analytics) and social media usage and creating reports as assigned.
Develop and manage surveys (SurveyMonkey) and analyze results as needed.
Manage contracted media buys and advertising services (radio, newspaper, television, digital, social media and transit), evaluate for results.
Coordinate development of marketing communication plans and/or execute scheduled strategies and tactics within budget to raise awareness of the PAG brand. Coordinate project schedules, internal production team and outside vendors, as needed, to deliver exceptional results, on time and on budget.
Assist in event coordination (planning, outreach, participation) to support all PAG programs.
Support updates to PAG’s Public Involvement Policy as required. Apply current public participation principles and practices, and educate staff in public involvement requirements.
Maintain effective working relationships with PAG’s internal and external stakeholders, including staff, elected officials, the media and the public.
Attend events outside normal duty hours including weekends as assigned.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Supervises as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements
At a minimum, requires combination of knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties AND EITHER an undergraduate degree with five years of related experience OR a graduate degree with three years of related experience OR equivalent.
Preferred degree in public relations, communication, marketing, business, journalism, public administration, or related field.

Must have strong writing skills, including strong copywriting and editing skills.

Must have digital media skills to navigate and manage social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
