Commuter Spotlight: Eileen Livingston

Eileen Livingston was one of the six lucky winners of the January Commuter Contest

Eileen Livingston was one of the six lucky winners of the January Commuter Contest.  She registered with Sun Rideshare because she wants to find a carpool partner.  Once again gas prices are on the rise, so carpooling is a great way to cut costs and may be the only way when there’s no direct bus service and it’s too far to bike.

Eileen works for Pima County Juvenile Court.  She enjoyed carpooling when she worked downtown, but when her job moved to Ajo Way, the carpool folded and Eileen’s been looking for a new partner ever since.  The 15-mile commute from the north side of town to the south side is very stressful, and with one vehicle in the family, Eileen relies on her husband to drive her to work.  That adds a lot of miles on their vehicle and uses extra gas.

Finding a carpool partner can be challenging, as she has found out, so Sun Rideshare offers an interactive carpool matching system to help commuters find each other.  It’s a free service that matches interested commuters based on where they live, work and their work hours.  There is also the Commuter Classifieds on the Sun Rideshare website if you don’t find a match in the commuter database.  Eileen is trying it all in the hope of finding a carpool partner.
