Esperero Canyon Fountain Grass Pull
|
Help remove invasive fountain grass on Tucson Audubon's property in Esperero Canyon (located between Ventana and Sabino Canyons). This is a great opportunity to see this dramatic, hard-to-reach canyon. TogetherGreen is a program of the Audubon Society, and is funded by Toyota. Bat Night 2010
|
The Rillito River Project presents Bat Night 2010, a collaboration with the University of Arizona to bring the riparian “disappeared” back to the riverbed along with a large sandbox where children can explore. Bat Night takes place on Saturday, September 11th at 5:30 p.m. in the Rillito riverbed, east of Campbell Avenue Bridge. At sunset, 45,000 bats will fly out from underneath the bridge for forage for food. Bat Night 2010 is free and open to the public. Bring a flashlight, a blanket to sit on and your own drinking water. Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival
|
The festival will be held on Sept. 15, 2010, at Tucson's Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway and features films showing the beautiful imagery and inspire individuals to get involved in conserving the wild and scenic places close to home.

National Public Lands Day- Ironwood National Monument
|
Tucson Audubon teams with Friends of Ironwood Forest and the Bureau of Land Management to do hands-on restoration at the El Cerrito Represso area of Ironwood Forest National Monument. Help clean up an illegal shooting site and remove buffelgrass. They supply: tools, extra water and snacks, and information about buffelgrass and Ironwood Forest National Monument. Brief Description:
PAG’s Environmental Planning Advisory Committee (EPAC) is the principal venue in the greater Tucson region for the discussion of environmental topics that affect all residents of the area. A wide range of topics are considered and, on occasion, resolutions proposing policies are considered for submittal to PAG’s Regional Council. EPAC’s membership includes representatives from PAG’s jurisdictional members, designated citizen representatives, and representatives from community and professional interests.
